Kanchi Valluvan IAS Academy

A civil-services academy using generated question banks, scheduled test series and per-candidate analytics on a branded platform.

The problem

Running a structured test series across a long preparation cycle means scheduling, publishing and analysing dozens of papers — an administrative load that grows with every additional batch.

Faculty time spent assembling papers is time not spent teaching, and the trade-off gets worse as enrolment grows.

Without item-level analysis, a question bank accumulates weak questions indefinitely: an item that everyone answers correctly, or that strong and weak candidates get wrong at similar rates, measures nothing but stays in rotation.

How the deployment works

A test series managed as a series

Papers are scheduled, published and analysed as a programme rather than as individual quizzes, so a batch moves through a planned sequence and the institute can see progress across the whole cycle instead of one paper at a time.

Question quality scored alongside candidate performance

The platform reports on the items themselves, not only the candidates. Discrimination indicates whether a question separates strong candidates from weak ones; difficulty indicates whether a paper landed where it was intended to. Items that measure nothing can be retired rather than silently reused for years.

Retention measured separately from completion

Recall scoring measures what candidates still know weeks after covering a topic, which is a different and more useful number than how many sessions they attended — particularly over a preparation cycle long enough for early topics to fade.

Delivered under the academy’s own brand

Candidates see the academy throughout — its name, its branding, its domain. Sikgen is not surfaced in the student experience.

Results

We are not publishing outcome figures for this deployment. A number is only meaningful alongside its definition and the period it was measured over, and we would rather show you nothing than show you something you cannot audit. If a specific metric matters to your evaluation, ask on the call — we will tell you what we can and cannot substantiate.
